The Obligatory Introduction
I've always felt that blogs are effective platforms for understanding and communicating scientific concepts - as much for the author as the reader. Personally, science-themed blogs have helped me become familiar with, or at least sparked an interest in several concepts, both foreign and integral to my research. They've also kept me up-to-date on current literature and controversies contained therein. Lastly, blogs are a fun way to share scientific opinions.
Paleowave will serve as a tool for me to jot down ideas, opinions and news on (mainly) paleoclimatology & paleoceanography, subjects which are poorly represented in the blogosphere in my opinion. I will be posting about newly published literature and well-established hypotheses that intrigue me. However, I will also take the time to post snippets on what I've been reading, watching & listening to, wherever my travels may lead me.
My research interests in a nutshell: I'm a chemical-engineer-turned-geochemist interested in paleoclimatology, paleoceanography, and paleogeodesy using carbonate chemistry.
