Tomorrow, I leave for the Solomon Islands. This is my first time in the Southern Hemisphere. I will be there for about two months doing field work (mapping islands, drilling corals etc. - all that good stuff) with Fred Taylor. Mainly, we'll be working in the Western Province. Though internet access will be tough to obtain, I'll try and update this space from time to time. My itinerary for tomorrow is quite interesting:

Austin, TX -> LA, CA -> Nadi, Fiji -> Port Vila, Vanuatu -> Honiara, Solomon Islands (phew!)

As I have mentioned before, I've been busy finishing up my Master's thesis. I (successfully) submitted my thesis on May 4th (which reminds me to update my CV!)
