A female, black-chinned hummingbird in Tucson.

Tucson, Arizona

July 17, 2019 by Kaustubh Thirumalai

It's been a little over a month since we’ve moved to toasty Tucson from the frigid northeast. I am privileged and honored to begin duties as a faculty member at the University of Arizona!

Despite being rather hot over the summer (it was ~44°C yesterday), Tucson is a southwestern paradise, and the monsoon, when it does rain is simply gorgeous. The food has been fantastic, and the people are incredibly friendly! The one downside has been that my bike got stolen :( - but I am told that this is a rather honorable rite of passage in becoming a Tucsonian!
